Our Story
More Than Just a Gas Station
Family owned and operated, Philmart has been proudly serving Waterville and the surrounding communities for over 40 years.
Philmart's story begins in 1972 when a then auto- garage & gas station on the corner of highway 13 and Main Street was purchased by local residents Lowell & Fern Renken.
Shortly after, Lowell and Fern opened their store with the desire to contribute and give back to the town they proudly called home. Since, Philmart has provided employment for over 500 local residents, often being the "first job" for many local youth and young adults.
Today, the business is still proudly owned and oporated by Fern & family. Philmart opens it's doors every morning to the community- welcoming visitors 365 days a year. Currently managed by Lowell and Fern's daughter, Lori LaFrance (Renken) and son- in -law Jeff LaFrance, you are sure to see them around the store each day, diligently serving their community as they have for so many years. Be sure to stop in and say hello!
